Kristin has performed on modern and period oboes throughout the United States, Mexico, and Europe. Her interest in early music began during her studies at the California Institute of the Arts while studying modern oboe with Allan Vogel, a baroque music enthusiast and avid supporter of period instruments. She has since performed under the baton of notable early music conductors such as William Christie, Richard Egarr, Phillipe Herreweghe, Nicholas McGegan, Ton Koopman, and Jordi Savall. Kristin performs regularly with ensembles throughout the United States. Some highlights from the 2013-14 season will include the Mozart Oboe Concerto with the University of Washington orchestra, and the Marcello Concerto with the Boulder Bach Festival. During her tenure as oboist from 2005-2010 with La Orquesta Sinfonia Sinaloa de las Artes in Culiacan, Mexico, Kristin created La Capella Real de las Americas, a chamber orchestra dedicated to bringing informed baroque music performance to small towns in northern Mexico. Her interest in outreach performance has continued, having done baroque music concerts for New York public and private schools through the Juilliard Educational Outreach program. Future plans include early music workshops at music schools in Sinaloa, Mexico. Kristin was recently featured on a CUNY-TV show in New York about music outreach in Brooklyn, and on PBS NewsHour in a segment about arts and business.
Kristin holds degrees from the California Institute of the Arts, the University of Southern California, and Juilliard. Kristin is a native of Seattle, WA.
