St. Paul’s Chapel (Broadway and Fulton Street)
It has often been remarked that Bach summed up all that came before him. This poetic assertion becomes explicit when examining Bach’s musical formation, encompassing the legacy of his own family as well as icons who would leave their mark on the young Bach to composers whose works were to be found in his own library. Helicon explores the sheer beauty and depth of emotion in the sound-world from which Bach emerged as part of Trinity Church Wall Street’s 12th Night Festival. The concert is free and takes place on December 28th at 5pm in Saint Paul’s Chapel (Broadway and Fulton), New York’s oldest public building, celebrating its 250th anniversary next year.
